Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't I open .flac files?

You need to read the Conversion page.

By default SeeDeClip is supplied with flac, ogg and aiff guide files (wav2flac.bat etc) - so you can select those file types for opening and saving, and SeeDeClip calls them to import and export to those formats.

So you need to install FLAC to actually do the conversion that the guide file dictates. Note that the supplied guide files require FLAC to be installed in C:\Program Files\FLAC to work. If you install it elsewhere the guide files must be edited (they are simple text files).

In essence you need to install the converter, and the guide file needs to know where it is, so SeeDeClip can use it.

SeeDeClip has stopped running and will not start?!

The SeeDeClip preferences file 'SeeDeClip.prf' gets confused very occasionally. The actual items that needs deleting in there are the variables beginning with 'win32_canvas_', but it may be easier to just delete the whole file.

Have a look for the file 'SeeDeClip.prf' in your home folder. This will be your 'C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name' folder.

Why are two windows activated by the view function?

The input file is at the top, the output file at the bottom.
  • Pressing View at the top allows you to see the input file.
  • Pressing View at the bottom allows you to see the output file.

I was unable to click in a window without the window redrawing

When you click on a graph you will zoom in. The place you clicked on will also move to the centre (this may change).
To just select the graph just click on a dead part of it - ie away from the traces.
To bring the graph to the front, click on an edge or right-click anywhere.
If the graph already is at the front then a right-click will open any context sensitive menu for that window.
Read Here for more information.

How do I move a window?

Go to any part of the window, press down the right mouse button, move it, let go.
Read Here for more information.

How do I resize a window?

Go to any corner or edge of a window, press down the mouse button, move it, let go.
If the window is non-resizeable it will move it instead.
Some windows are not moveable.

  • Our email server is down

Please Contact us if you need confirmation or have not heard from us within a day or two.

I cant figure out how to just play the file

SeeDeClip is currently silent. You need to use Explorer or Finder to locate your files and double click them to play as you would any audio file.

How does the Rounding Zone work?

The rounding zone affects just that information in and above it, so most of the waveform is not affected. The clip detection is then at the bottom of the clip region and the reconstructed waveform will fill the area within that zone.

I have an Intel Mac, can I run the software on that?
