LOADING AND SAVING

The FILE menu (click-on FILE in the top menu or press ALT-F) is used for saving and recalling of circuits.

Any number of circuits (subject to memory ) can be open simultaneously in SUMO, the current one is put on a stack when another is opened or a NEW circuit is requested from the FILE menu..

This is useful for editing a sub-circuit without having to close the parent circuit. When simulating however, only the top one may remain modified, because after returning from simulation only the top circuit remains open.

Locations of files

All temporary files are placed in the current directory, so it is advised to move to a directory on a fast disk drive while running SUMO .

Duplicating circuits

To duplicate a circuit, firstly open it. Press ALT-F to go to the FILE menu, click-on OPEN, choose the circuit and press ENTER. Now go to the FILE menu again, and click-on SAVEAS .

Type the required name (8 characters or less) and press ENTER.

Running DOS commands

Going to the FILE menu (pressing ALT-F) and clicking on SHELL opens a DOS shell ;- memory permitting.

To exit this shell and return to SUMO, type in EXIT at the DOS prompt. Be careful not to change directory as SUMO assumes that the current directory will remain constant.

Browsing files

Going to the FILE menu (pressing ALT-F) and clicking on BROWSE causes a naming menu to pop-up.

Type in the required name and press ENTER or click-on OK . If the file does not exist an error message will appear. If all is OK, a standard browsing window will appear. The mouse pointer must remain within the window of interest for the key-presses to register. PgUp, PgDn, ↑ and ↓ are used to navigate the file. Press ESC when finished.
