Import SPICE circuits and models
This is only available in SUMO-EXPERT .
SPICE EXTRACTION TOOLS
The Extraction Tools allow the extraction of SPICE compatible models and Sub-circuits. When you need to simulate a new/existing design with a particular component or set of components, then you can send off for the device models from the manufacturer, extract them into SUMO and use them in your designs, in all supported simulators.
Click on the simulator name in the far right-hand side of the top menu-bar of the schematic, to enter the SELECT menu.
Once in the SELECT menu, click-on EDIT, then on EXTRACT to open the EXTRACTION menu. From here you can type in the name (and path if required) of the library file you wish to scan.

Extracting models
To extract one or more models, select the class required (e.g. DIODE) and press MODELS . Models will be extracted into the relevant SUMO generic library, and consequently available to all supported simulators.
If there are models you wish to extract for component classes that are not supported by the currently selected simulator, select the simulator which contains that class and continue.
Extracting Sub-circuits
To extract sub-circuits, press SUBCKTS . Sub-circuits are much more difficult to extract than models, the operation is more complex and error prone. Extracted sub-circuits behave and can be used just like any other sub-circuits.
Extracted circuits have no graphical data, because SPICE files do not contain it. SUMO creates a default DIL (Dual-in-Line ) outline for the symbol; and the internal components are all connected by NODEs, giving a functional if not very pretty circuit!

The circuit or the symbol can be changed by editing them as for any other circuit.
All models found in a sub-circuit are extracted into local models for that sub-circuit. This avoids any naming clashes and keeps the library extracted data together coherently.
Note: Sub-circuits within sub-circuits may not be able to be extracted.
